BIOGRAPHY:
Tyler Russell Lewis (T.R.L.) was born a balanced & sensitive leader with an ear for music, in Portland Oregon USA. He was trained on classical piano starting at age 4 and soon after picked up a variety of interest in every possible way to make sounds. In High School he started teaching private music lessons and his Rock & Roll band was recognized on the front page of the state newspaper two days in a row. After excelling rapidly at the guitar, he decided to pursue a further education in music at the Berklee college of Music, where he was granted an outstanding musicianship award in 2001. He also attended the University of Oregon where he challenged himself in science and graduated with a degree in Pre-medicine in 2006.
His latest band out of Los Angeles got signed to the major record label EMI, produced a full-length studio album & Music video, toured 3 countries 250,000 miles and 500 shows. He’s jammed, toured and recorded with world class artists such as Johnny Lang, Everclear, The Dandy Warhols, Sublime, Eek a Mouse, Slightly Stoopid & the Dirty Heads. Received recognition in High Times magazine and was written up in 3 of his hometown newspapers, all in the last 3 years.
Overall Tyler Lewis is a visionary artist, student of nature and accomplished teacher seeking knowledge, truth and wisdom through positive energy, self-awareness and art. He is a painter, poet, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and speaker of the universal language. Crossing boundaries of adversity & challenging his own views, he learns about himself through travel and research, which inspires him to create the vast variety of music he projects.
Present day you will find him living in the mountains of Lake Tahoe California where he enjoys mountain biking, skiing & gallivanting in the wood. He currently runs a studio out of which he produces, teaches and writes music for every facet of exposure imaginable. Living well - by the moto: “Life is Science, Music is Life”
